Rogan Associates, a premier consulting engineering firm in Port & Waterfront Development, has been selected for the Detailed Engineering Design of the expansion of the Container Terminal of the Port of Thessaloniki, as well as for the supervision of its construction. Thessaloniki Port Authority S.A. (ThPA) and our Consortium “HILL INTERNATIONAL N.V. – ROGAN ASSOCIATES S.A.” signed the relevant agreement on 04/09/2019. The overall duration of the project is 46 months.
The Port of Thessaloniki is a port of international interest, and it is one of the five Greek Ports which belong to the Core Network of Trans-European Transport Networks. It is the most important port of Northern Greece, and one of the most important ports in Southeast Europe.
On the basis of the Concession Agreement signed by the Hellenic Republic and ThPA, ThPA shall implement the mandatory capex plan. Our Consortium will prepare and update the Detailed Engineering Design, will support ThPA in the tendering process of the construction, and will offer project management and supervision services during the construction. The overall investment cost of the project is 130 million euros.
The project includes:
· Construction of an additional quaywall with a minimum continuous length of 440 m, out of which at least 400 m provide a minimum draught of -17.60 m MSL (Mean Sea Level).
· Construction of additional yard area, at least 300 m wide.
· Construction of all complementary infrastructure works needed for the full operation of both the new quaywall and corresponding yard, including dredging of navigation channel and ship maneuvering area at a minimum water depth of -17.60 m MSL; pavements at the yard area; and utilities networks.
Our goal is to deliver a world-class facility which will transform the Port into a regional transportation hub.
