- Exploitation Plan conceived in three (3) Phases
- Six (6) alternative Exploitation Plans; one (1) approved
- Special attention was given in creating a smooth interface between urban and port activities
- New 400 m. long quay for cruising vessels and rehabilitation of the old passenger terminal
- New 565 m. long / -15 m. quay as an extension to the existing Container Terminal (Pier VI) to serve Post-Panamax vessels
- Leisure Harbour at Pier I with a capacity of 200 boats
- Rehabilitation and introduction of new functions in existing buildings
- New parking areas
- Creation of a Schengen Zone
- New stern/star and parallel berths for High Speed passenger vessels
